Travel with us for 11 days in Eastern Canada where we'll see historic sites throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. We'll see lighthouses and other sites, and take in the International Tattoo show with over 2000 military and civilian performers from around the world.

Day 1 – Sunday, July 1

Our trip to the Maritimes begins as we roll through Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine to New Brunswick. We'll stay overnight in St. George, New Brunswick.

Day 2 – Monday, July 2

This morning we travel to the Bay of Fundy and Annapolis Valley. We'll stop at the Anne Murray Center and take the Coalmine tour. We'll stop and see the Tidal Bore on the Salmon River. This afternoon we continue to Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia.

Day 3 –Tuesday, July 3

Today, we'll travel along the lighthouse route. Along the way, we will see the lighthouse that contains an active post office and  the stone monument at the Swiss Air Memorial site. We'll stop at the historic village of Mahone Bay, Old Town Lunenburg, and visit dozens of historic buildings and homes dating back to 1760.

Day 4 – Wednesday, July 4

This morning we will start a full tour of Halifax with our local guide. We'll see the Halifax Citadel, the Maritime Museum, the cemetery in Halifax and other important sites such as the Town Clock and Halifax Public Gardens.

Day 5 – Thursday, July 5

Today we'll travel to Cape Breton by the Marine Trail, to Sherbrooke Village for lunch, and then we'll make a visit to the museum on the St. Mary's River. Our next stop will be the Port Hastings Gift Shop and rest stop. We'll travel to small ocean villages, we'll visit the quaint town of Baddeck and we'll witness a Celtic gathering.

Day 6 –Friday, July 6

This morning we'll travel through the unforgettable splendor of the famous Cabot Trail named for John Cabot, the English explorer who sighted Cape Breton in 1497. We'll stop at Cheticamp, a small fishing village, and watch artisans make their famous rugs. We'll visit Les Trois Pignons' Museum of Hooked Rugs and Home Life. Late this afternoon we'll visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum.

Day 7 – Saturday, July 7

This morning, after an early breakfast at the hotel, we'll head for the heartland of New Scotland to the town of Antigonish, home of St. Francis University, New Glasgow and Pictou. We will then board the ferry for Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest province. Today we tour Charlottetown, and see the Founder Providence House. This evening we'll enjoy a performance at the College of Piping in Summerside.

Day 8 – Sunday, July 8

This eighth day of our trip will bring us to the northwestern corner of Prince Edward Island. We'll visit the North Cape Lighthouse, the Tallest Functional Lights and the Interpretive Center. This afternoon we'll visit the Potato Museum, Anne of Green Gables' home, the birthplace of Lucy Montgomery and Prince Edward Island Preserve Company. Dinner this evening will be at the famous New Glasgow Lobster Supper.

Day 9 - Monday, July 9

Today we travel the Northeast Coastal Drive. We'll stop at East Point Lighthouse and Prince Edward Island National Park. We'll have lunch at Reid's Fish and Chips in St. Peter's Bay. This evening we'll eat dinner in Charlottetown.

Day 10 - Tuesday, July 10

This morning we leave Prince Edward Island and stop at Gateway Village. We cross the Confederation Bridge to St. George, New Brunswick. We'll visit the Hopewell Rock, Fundy National Park, and Reversing Falls at St. John. We'll travel to Bangor, Maine where we'll stay overnight.

Day 11 - Wednesday, July 11

After breakfast we're homeward bound with fond memories of Atlantic Canada.
